The flavor of this broccoli slaw is reminiscent of teriyaki sauce, but without the soy of course. Once sautéed they are almost like noodles, and who doesn't love noodles, am I right?!
INGREDIENTS
- 1- 12 oz pkg. broccoli slaw
Sauce:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp honey (maple syrup for vegan)
- 1 Tbsp coconut aminos
- 1/2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
Crunchy Almonds:
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds
- 2 Tbsp coconut aminos
DIRECTIONS
- Prepare the sauce by whisking all sauce ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Over medium-high heat, in a large heavy pan, place the broccoli slaw and sauce. Toss to coat the slaw. Cover and cook for 6 minutes stirring halfway through the cook time. Watch closely to ensure the slaw does not burn. Remove from heat.
- In a small pan over medium heat, place the 1/3 cup of almonds and 2 Tbsp coconut aminos. Stir constantly until the aminos are reduced and almonds become crunchy, about 4 minutes. Sprinkle over the Broccoli Slaw and season with additional salt and pepper if desired. Serve hot.
