This is yet another favorite vegetable side. It is so simple, quick and packed with flavor, what more can you ask for? Asparagus is also a very powerful vegetable with a great deal of health benefits: 1) It is loaded with vitamin K which plays an important role in blood health. 2) It has anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. 3) It is also a natural diuretic which helps regulate healthy fluid retention. 4) It is loaded with pre-biotics which promote intestinal health.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp broth 
  • 1 bunch of asparagus, 2 inches of base removed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

DIRECTIONS
  1. Pour the oil into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute the onions and garlic alone for 2 minutes. Add 1 Tbsp of broth, trimmed asparagus, salt and pepper. Cover and cook for 5 minutes stirring halfway through cook time.
