COCONUT CARAMEL SAUCE

If you're asking me, caramel is good on basically everything! This creamy concoction won't have you missing traditional caramel one bit. Liberally drizzle it over fresh fruit or hastily spoon it into your mouth when no one is watching.

If you don’t have coconut sugar on hand, don’t fret! You can also find a tasty honey caramel sauce recipe here.

INGREDIENTS
  • 3/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

DIRECTIONS
  1. In a medium saucepan combine coconut sugar with 1/4 cup of water over medium-high heat. Whisk together then cook without stirring until the mixture has turned dark brown and is rich in fragrance, about 2-4 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat. Whisk in the coconut milk, oil and salt. 
  3. Serve warm or allow to chill for a thicker sauce.
