These candied walnuts are an absolute favorite. The flavor is perfect without any refined sugar, not to mention that walnuts are a supercharged superfood and packed with brain/body boosing omega-3. 
These are great to have around and munch at your leisure, bag them up as gifts, or use them in salad or over tasty fruit and cream!

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 cups walnuts, halved
  • 2 egg whites, whisked
  • 1/3 cup honey 
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the walnuts in a medium size bowl. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the eggs then add the honey, cinnamon and salt. Continue whisking until combined. Pour the wet mixture into the walnut bowl and toss until evenly coated.
  3. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread out the walnuts into an even layer.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, tossing every 20 minutes.
