9 Ways to get kids exercising indoors

Picture

It it's too cold or too hot to have fun outside, there are still so many ways for your kids to have a great time and release their energy in a positive and productive way.  Here are just a few ideas.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Dance! - Turn up some dance music and go crazy! A personal favorite.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Balloon Volleyball - Make boundaries with painter's tape, or just have fun! But don’t let the balloon touch the floor!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Hula Hoop - Move to the middle of the living room and test your moves. Alternatively, you can set it on the floor and try hopping in and out or all the way across. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Action Books - Find books that encourage kids to move as part of the story. Alternatively, make your own fun. When a certain word is said during the book your kids can hop up and do jumping jacks!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Action JENGA- Using a pencil, write actions on the JENGA blocks. When that block is pulled out, the player gets to do that action.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Wii, Switch & Kinect - There are so many great video games that promote movement. What’s your favorite?⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. YouTube - There are so many great resources for learning a new dance, cardio routines, or yoga. Our go-to has always been Cosmic Kids Yoga.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8. Obstacle Course - Move the ottoman, cushions, and chairs to make an obstacle course. These are always fun and the possibilities are endless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
9. GoNoodle App- Packed with games and dances to get your kids up and moving.
